Industry professionals asked to share outlook

Intellect has launched an online survey which seeks to assess key trends across the offshoring industry. The association is asking professionals who are engaged with the sector to participate.

The research will provide a valuable insight into the future of offshoring at a time when it is growing increasingly important to UK businesses. Globalisation has opened up markets across the world; by taking advantage of this offshoring has increased the opportunities available to UK enterprise, enabling them to develop innovative models of business for the 21st century.

Those taking part can register to receive free expert analysis of the results and an invitation to the high-profile launch of the White Paper. You will also receive automatic entry into a free prize draw to win two free tickets worth £800 to Intellect's Sourcing Conference on Thursday 18 September 2008. The survey is open to all business and IT professionals with experience in offshoring and will be live until Friday 11 July 2008.

Intellect recruits William Higham to fill new public affairs post

Engaging senior policymakers, politicians, parliamentarians and advisors

William Higham joins Intellect as public affairs manager from the think tank Demos where he was head of communications. The position replaces the role of parliamentary affairs manager.

John Higgins CBE, director general of Intellect said, "As an industry we have many of the answers to next generation of policy problems facing the country. Whether the goal is to reduce carbon emissions, to protect again identity theft or to personalise the public services, it is unimaginable to reach a solution without the smart application of technology. William's appointment is part of our commitment to reach out as an industry and contribute positively on the most strategic level."

William Higham's role will be engaging senior policymakers, politicians, parliamentarians and advisors. His experience at Demos, and previously as head of policy and communications at the national campaigning charity, the Prison Reform Trust, give him a background in sustained thought leadership.

William can be contacted on T 020 7331 2039 E william.higham@intellectuk.org

Gone but not forgotten - is broadcasting dead or merely taking a break?

The Convergence Conversation, now with its own new website, www.convergenceconversation.com, comes back on Thursday 17 July for a re-launch event at the iconic BT Tower. The event, which will continue to run in its usual informal fashion, is available free for Intellect members and at a cost of £40+VAT for non members.

In a broadcasting world increasingly dominated by on demand services across multiple platforms and where mass audiences are fragmenting, the convergence conversation will ask 'Is broadcasting dead or merely taking a break?'

Non members can pay for tickets on the website from Wednesday 11 June. Intellect members can register with Camilla Young, T 020 7331 2028, E camilla.young@intellectuk.org
