Call for evidence questions: Migration Advisory Committee review |
| |
Take part in our survey
Following Intellect's meeting last week with the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), we have begun collecting evidence and data from companies to ensure a valuable response to the MAC Points Based System (PBS) reviews of Tier 1 & 2. We have produced a survey to help collect this evidence which can be accessed here. Please feel free to pass it on to colleagues, partners or customers who you feel would be able to add valuable evidence to the arguments. You can also view the questions (PDF 69KB) from the MAC consultation for Tier 1 & 2. We would appreciate any responses you have to these that we can then back up with the evidence from the survey.
For further information please contact Carrie Hartnell, T 020 7331 2007, E carrie.hartnell@intellectuk.org

Intellect welcomes government announcement on smart meters |
| |
John Higgins, director general of Intellect said...
"We welcome the ambition to put a smart meter in every home by 2020, but this move isn't just about providing consumers with a new way of monitoring their energy consumption. Smart meters are a platform on which we can build the jobs of the future, open up a huge new areas for services and create devices that cut carbon emissions. A major LSE report released two weeks ago, suggested that £5 billion of investment in smart grid would create or retain 231,000 UK jobs. A significant proportion of those jobs would come from the growth of the industries connected to smart meter production, maintenance and development. This commitment by government is the first step towards realising connected and smart homes." |
