Katie Miller Nortel
Katie Miller is Director of UK Government Relations for Nortel based in Nortel’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) headquarters in Maidenhead, UK.
In this role, Katie is responsible for engaging Nortel in public policy debates reflecting Nortel’s strategic priorities, and for considering where Nortel might contribute to economic, environmental or social policy. Katie also works with representative groups such as Intellect to engage with policy makers. Katie joined Nortel in 2007 from the UK’s communications regulator Ofcom where she was responsible for developing competition policy in a variety of communications markets.
For more than a decade Katie’s career has focused on the relationship between business and government. As a consultant, Katie worked on regulatory and commercial issues for companies such as The Economist, Royal Mail, Yahoo, The Guardian, and The Telegraph. Prior to this, in 1998 Katie joined RM plc where she was Head of Public Policy. In 1994, she started work for NatWest, where Katie was responsible corporate social responsibility and for developing products for social enterprises.
Katie studied a Masters course in project management with the University of Bradford, UK and graduated in mathematics from the University of Exeter, UK. Katie is a fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Science) and an associate of the Association of Project Managers, and of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
