Outsourcing and Offshore Group
Dr Richard Sykes was ICI’s Group VP IT between 1993 and 1999. He subsequently chaired Europe’s leading outsourcing consultancy Morgan Chambers plc 1999-2004, and start up Site Confidence Ltd (recently acquired by the NCC Group) 2000-2004. His personal practice as a strategic coach and trusted board–level adviser has a particular focus on the globalisation of the IT Services and the Business Process sourcing & outsourcing markets. Richard chairs Solcom Ltd (a consultancy and software development business specialised in the nuclear medicine process industries), advises Quickstart Global Ltd (that enables small to medium-sized hi-tech companies build their own captive off-shore operations) and is an Associate of the Leading Edge Forum (a global network of innovative thought leaders who engage technology and business executives on the current and future role of information technology). He is a Trustee of the charity HumanITy that seeks to ensure that the practical application of IT is socially inclusive.
In the arts world, Richard chairs the De Le Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust, responsible for the stewardship of a 70-year old architectural icon of the Modernist movement. Located on the UK south at Bexhill-on-Sea, and recently re-opened after an £8.5m refurbishment, it holds one the largest contemporary art galleries in South East England, with a 1000 seat auditorium/theatre, restaurant, bar and shop.
