The committee lobbies on policy, standards and conformity in electrical safety such as fire, burn, electric shock, chemical, acoustic, mechanical and radiation; telecom terminals regulations; the impact on product design of new limits on exposure to electromagnetic fields; the impact of degradation in the quality of electricity supplies and conformity assessment regimes, especially the freedom to self-declare versus mandatory third party testing.

The committee will work to:

• anticipate new regulations from policy announcements and head off action before officials become committed
• lobby on new requirements from drafting stage right through to implementation dates - Intellect has a record of success in many areas
