Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinating Committee

Next meeting:

Intellect's Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinating Committee (HSECC) meets on a regular basis to discuss strategic policy on national, European and international legislation, both proposed and enacted, on the environment as well as health and safety matters. Intellect's position on environmental legislation is formulated by HSECC which is drawn from Intellect's diverse membership. The committee is promoted through meetings with Government and ministry officials, and representatives of other Government bodies.

Over the next three years HSECC will:

• submit Intellect's view to Government on impending environmental legislation, including WEEE and RoHS Directives, Energy Using Products Directive (EuP) and the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH)
• monitor and influence the development of European directives and their implementation in the UK to protect and promote members' interests
