Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinating Committee


At a glance: The Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinating Committee (HSECC) is the policy forum on proposed and enacted legislation on the environment as well as on health and safety matters.

This committee exists largely for determining policy and is therefore restricted in membership. Enquiries should be made to the Secretary, see below

Intellect's Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinating Committee (HSECC) meets on a regular basis to discuss strategic policy on national, European and international legislation, both proposed and enacted, on the environment as well as health and safety matters.  The main current topics are:  WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive), RoHS Regulations (the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2008) ,  Energy Use and Packaging.

Intellect's position on environmental legislation is formulated by HSECC which is drawn from Intellect's diverse membership.

The committee's work is promoted through liaison with Government and appropriate industry bodies.
