Get recognised for your IT excellence
Local Government IT Excellence Awards 2006, Call for entries – Excellence in Action

If your authority has implemented an IT-based solution that is innovative, effective and delivers good value and high levels of utility and service and you feel the world should get to hear about it, then Intellect want you to blow your own trumpet enthusiastically!

The prestigious Intellect, Socitm and SOLACE Local Government IT Excellence Awards are now in their eleventh year, and Intellect is actively seeking entries and nominations. This year’s awards are sponsored by Intellect members Dell and Ericom, and are expected to cover entries from a wide selection of local e-Government projects.

The deadline for entries is Friday, 04 August 2006. The shortlist will be selected in September with the winners presented with their awards at the Socitm Conference on 03 October.

Previous winners include Leeds City Council’s ‘Digital Pen and Paper Technology Within The Home Care Environment’ initiative. The project uses Digital Pen and Paper technology to help reshape the way in which Social Services Home Care service activity is recorded, stored and reported. Home Care assistants using the technology are able to send care information directly to corporate systems from patient’s homes through a secure mobile link, thereby speeding the process and improving patient care.

Last year’s awards also included the runner-up, Lambeth Council’s Lambeth Integrated Customer Record, whilst Cumbria County Council in collaboration with the London Boroughs of Sutton, Enfield and Lambeth were awarded “Highly Commended” status for the Electronic Financial Assessments project.
