At a glance: A group which deals proactively with policy and regulations affecting telecommunications networking, focused mainly at a strategic level.

Focus: The Intellect Communications Council (ICC) is comprised of representatives of Intellect member companies with significant current or potential telecoms related business and deals with issues such as:

  • Generation Networks (NGN)
  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
  • Public Electronic Communication Service (PECS)
  • Publicly Available Telephone Service (PATS)( which address all matters directly affecting the telecoms industry)

Key focus areas:

  • establish a clear vision of what Intellect members in this industry want in terms of ongoing Government policy and regulation
  • identify clear policy goals and priorities
  • establish clear messages in all policy areas for communication by Intellect and its members
  • promote success to date in various media in areas of common interest to members including VoIP and Broadband
