Intellect announces new Board of Directors

Intellect, the technology trade association, will announce a new president, deputy president and board of directors at its annual general meeting later today.

Sean Finnan, managing director of EDS’ UK commercial and global CRM businesses has been elected as president of Intellect. Clive Richardson, EMEA managing director of Qinetiq has been elected as deputy president. John Woodget, director of EMEA marketing for Intel will become immediate past president. Together they have over 75 years of experience in the technology industry. They will provide expert guidance to the Intellect team and in particular to the director general John Higgins.

The board is Intellect’s ultimate decision-making body and is responsible for shaping the organisation’s strategic direction and values. It is made up board level executives from the world's most successful and innovative hi-tech companies, drawn from Intellect membership.  

Sean Finnan, president of Intellect comments: "I am both delighted and honoured to be the president of Intellect.  The breadth and depth of work that the association undertakes is enormous and has real benefit to its members.  I am very proud to be able contribute to it and hope that during my presidency Intellect will foster ever -greater growth and innovation in the UK technology industry.”

John Higgins, director general of Intellect adds: "Intellect provides a powerful voice for the UK technology industry and the board plays a vital role in this. Board members’ experience and insight is invaluable in developing our work programmes. I am very pleased to welcome the new board and in particular our new president and deputy president, and I look forward to working closely with them."

The new board will comprise representatives from the following companies: 
EDS, Qinetiq, Intel, BT, Cisco, Deloitte, Ericsson, FfastFill, Fujistu Services, General Dynamics, Graphic, Greener Consulting, IBM, InterSystems, Kenmare Systems, Kern, Lockheed Martin, LogicaCMG, Magic Consulting, Memset, Motorola, Nokia, Nortel, Newell & Budge, Phillips, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Racepoint, RM, Siemens, Sony, Thales, Thesaurus and Toshiba.

Intellect's director general and finance director / company secretary also sit on the board.  All board members will take up their roles following the annual general meeting this afternoon.
