At a glance: JETSECC is the Intellect export control policy forum on export control legislation with particular emphasis on dual-use exports and the Wassenaar Arrangement.

This committee exists largely for determining policy and is therefore restricted in membership. Enquiries should be made to the Secretary, see below

Focus:

JETSECC has a dual role of influencing EU and UK legislation through direct contact with Government: an example of this is the current project to revise the export licensing arrangements for encryption products. But much of the day to day activity is sharing expertise at practitioner level and understanding the enormous topic which export controls has become. Members continuously share knowledge and best practice; several areas are awareness training relating to how compliance is addressed within different Intellect member companies and offshore managed services. Members also keep themselves updated on legislative changes and developments worldwide.

JETSECC maintains relationships with other export control-minded trade associations such as EGAD in the UK and EICTA in Brussels and enjoys visits by speakers from a variety of Governmental agencies such as BERR, HMRC and CESG.

Quarterly meetings draw representatives from the Defence, IT, Telecommunications, Manufacturers, Electronics and Software member companies. These meetings are informal events with activity being shared at other times through subgroups, such as that for studying ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), and email circulars.
