Kate Craig-WoodKate Craig-Wood
Memset Ltd

Kate Craig-Wood, MD of Memset, the UK's leading provider of Web & IT hosting solutions, was the first woman to tandem-jump Everest in October 2008 to raise money for Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G).

CC4G is an award-winning initiative run by e-skills UK supported by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES), which aims to raise the standard of girls technology skills while transforming their attitudes to careers in IT.

Kate has always had a deep interest in technology and business, and after completing her MSc in Biomedical science she joined Arthur Andersen business consulting as IT consultant. She went on to head business development for Easyspace Ltd., one of the UK's largest Web hosting companies, and subsequently formed Memset with her brother, Nick, in late 2002.

Memset has grown steadily since inception, and Kate's foci on technology, innovation and corporate social responsibility have helped to secure Memset's position as a leading dedicated hosting provider. Memset is Britain's first Carbon Neutral ISP, has been voted best UK Web host in 2006 and recently won Surrey's Innovation in Business award.

Kate takes an active interest in local & national business affairs. Her other positions include being a director of the Surrey Chambers of Commerce, a committee member of the Institute of Directors West Surrey branch, and an associate member of the London Diplomatic Association. As well as her interests in ICT and environmental issues, Kate keenly follows a number of scientific fields, enjoys SCUBA diving, skiing, sailing & motorcycling, and holds a pilot's licence for helicopters.
