At a glance: The Intellect Association for Biometrics was formed in 2007 to address the influential and growing Biometrics sector. The group represents Intellect members companies from across this area, seeking to ensure that policymakers and the industry are fully informed and able to address this growing market in a cohesive and consultative way.

Focus: ensuring that policymakers and the industry are fully informed and able to address the growing biometrics market in a cohesive and consultative way. Previously an external organisation, the International Association for Biometrics was made part of Intellect’s Identity & Information Management work in 2007.

Key focus areas

  • the exchange of expertise, information and ideas between the biometrics industry and stakeholders, including government and SMEs
  • growth of the market through the informed development of new applications and value-based uses for biometrics
  • ensuring that policymakers, customers and other stakeholders are well informed about the value and benefits of biometrics
  • thought leadership and guidance, and to promote the successful implementation of biometrics
  • best practice throughout the supply chain
