Get recognised for your IT excellence

Call for entries to the Local Government IT Excellence Awards 2007
Intellect is inviting all local authorities that have implemented an innovative and effective IT-based solution to blow their own trumpets.

The prestigious Intellect, Socitm and SOLACE Local Government IT Excellence Awards are now in their twelfth year, and Intellect is actively seeking entries and nominations.  As always, we anticipate entries from a wide selection of local government projects: last year’s awards attracted over 30 entries.  This year the awards are sponsored by Intellect member company Ericom Software.
The deadline for entries is Friday, 03 August 2007. The shortlist will be selected in September and the winners presented their awards at the Socitm Annual Conference, 14-16 October at the Belfast Waterfront Conference Centre.

Last year’s winner was C-me, a system developed by West Lothian Community Health & Care Partnership to improve the delivery of services to local children through information sharing.
David Robertson, senior responsible officer for the programme, comments: “Having worked closely with many partners in childcare protection to deliver the C-me technology, it is hugely satisfying to know that our work is valued equally by the industry, as shown by our system being named as the winner of the Local Government IT Excellence Awards 2006.

“Winning the award has certainly raised the profile of the C-me application and added a level of national recognition to what has been a highly successful programme in Scotland. We are now looking forward to working with other sites across the country, sharing best practice and endorsing the benefits of technology enabled partnership working."
