About the group

The Electronics Manufacturing Services Association (EMSA) acts as a unified representative voice for companies that specialise in the production of high-quality complex circuit boards for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and design houses.

The group seeks to forge sustainable links between potential high technology outsourcing markets and the UK electronics manufacturing sector. It also focuses on shaping the regulatory and political environment in the UK, ensuring that it is conducive to improving the competitiveness of UK CEM's in an ever more globalised marketplace.

During 2008, EMSA will focus on:

engagement with key Government stakeholders to address problems of skills shortage, as well as effective compliance with new environmental regulations
formulation of resources relating to effective outsourcing and supply chain management on the part of the UK Contract Electronics Manufacturing industry
providing an effective forum for industry to debate and understand future business trends, opportunities and threat

Intellect is a founding member and active participant in the UK Electronics Alliance. The UKEA pulls together the diverse group of trade associations within the electronics sector, presenting a unique opportunity for the electronics sector to speak with a co–coordinated voice.
