Contracting Best Practice Working Group

At a glance: a group of active members working on establishing fair terms and conditions in public sector contract practice that support successful outcomes and reflect the best interests of both the industry and public sector customers.

Focus: establishing fair and equitable terms and conditions in public sector contract practice and reflecting the best interests of both the industry and public sector customers:

• Continue to push for the implementation of industry recommendations for the OGC Model Contract (model terms and conditions for government contracts)
• Continue to develop and adopt ‘Best practice’ guide for suppliers (from public and private sector perspectives)
• Push for the public sector implementation of Model Contracts and the correct understanding of the Model Contract and its guidance
• Tackling the key issues that continue to cause problems in public sector contracting (Unlimited Liability & indemnities, Due Diligence, Supply Chain Rights, Early termination for Convenience, and Financial Distress)
