Focus: working within Intellect’s overall Defence & Security strategy, the group assists MOD in the formulation of effective R&T policy. In order to represent the industry’s collective views on R&T topics, the council has a programme of regular meetings with key players in R&T and produces guidance and white papers on policy topics. It also engages through other industry and government channels including NDIC Research & Development sub-group. The council provides a forum for members and customer stakeholders to network, and represents industry’s collective views on R&T topics. 

Key issues/objectives:

  • promotion of the technology sector’s capabilities to Government
  • R&T best practice, including the promotion of innovation, technology refresh and the exploitation of new technologies
  • UK environment for defence R&T
  • members’ awareness of the R&T market
