At a glance: with over 250 member companies, the Government Group is Intellect’s largest special interest group. The group runs a programme of regular briefings that provide a channel for government and industry to discuss policy, strategy, and implementation issues.

Meeting dates

  • 08/04/2010 - **New date** Government Group - DCSF Commercial Strategy

Focus: representing each of Intellect’s 250+ member companies who supply into the government markets. The group encompasses the full range of suppliers into the government sector: major providers of information technology systems and services; consultancy firms; a large number of small and medium organisations. Group activities include:

  • a programme of regular briefings from key players in the field
  • lobbying/campaigning on issues identified as priority
  • production of guidance and white papers

Key issues/objectives:

  • awareness of developments within the government agenda
  • provision of a channel for government and industry to discuss policy, strategy, and implementation issues
  • networking and collaboration between members to enable the delivery of effective IT-enabled business change into government
  • influencing policy and decision making and behaviours in the public sector
  • encouraging the government to create an environment in which small, specialist companies can do more work both directly with government and through larger companies in the development of government solutions
  • promoting a positive image of our industry to the wider public, the media and our customers
