Colin joined Olswang as a partner in September 1998, and is head of the Olswang Telecoms Group.  
 
Colin specialises in corporate transactions, commercial agreements, M&A and joint ventures, start-ups and development funding in the communications, IT and hi-tech sectors, as well as in regulatory matters and competition law. He has guided many of the world’s leading telecoms companies over the years in a variety of deals in the area of fixed, mobile and satellite-based services. Clients include operators, services providers, ISPs, banks, government agencies and regulatory bodies.  
 
Colin has been involved in advising on all the landmark issues in the development of the telecommunications market, including interconnection, local loop unbundling, CPS, DSL, cable TV/telephony and spectrum auctions.  
 
He has also been regularly retained by operators and their advisers, such as investment banks, to advise on the regulatory, competition and commercial aspects of significant M & A/corporate deals in the telecom sector over the last decade.  
 
Colin's book “Global Telecommunications Law and Practice” has been published by Sweet and Maxwell in its third updated edition with foreign country contributions from telecom law specialists around the world. He is a former Chairman of the Communications Law Committee of the International Bar Association and a member of the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee.
