Stewart joined Charles Russell in December 2002 from KPMGs law firm, KLegal (previously he was at the US law firm now known as Steptoe & Johnson), and became a partner within the firm’s Commercial Dispute Resolution team based in London in May 2004. Stewart’s practice area is quite diverse encompassing litigation (member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association), arbitration (belongs to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators) and mediation at both national and international level across a variety of sectors ranging from IT/Telecoms & Media through to Automotive (former member of KPMG’s Automotive Solutions Group), Contentious Insolvency, IP and Engineering. Stewart is the firm’s representative on the ALFA European Product Recall Task Force and has particular expertise in national and international product liability issues. Stewart lectures frequently on various subject including limitation and exclusion clauses, dispute avoidance, supply chain disputes, as well as conflict of laws and cross border case management.
