FP7 Call 3 - Research and Development in ICT
An opportunity to participate in Collaborative ICT research and development will be announced by The European Commission In early December 2007. Applications for a share in the 265 M€ budget have to be submitted by the first week of April 2008. These will necessarily involve international partnerships.
This budget will be spent for the most part on three principal topics:
Digital Content and Technologically Enhanced Learning Digital Libraries: Innovative access to European Scale resources, Solutions to long term preservation, storage and recovery. Enhanced learning: Intelligent, Self assessing, Learner responsive, adaptive, solutions for the individual.
Intelligent Content and Semantics Expansion of semantic theory and reference implementations. supporting lifecycle management of content and the workflow of its creation and the processes to its consumption. Extraction of meaning and its use in selective delivery etc.
Cognition, Interaction and Robotics Delivering reliable systems based upon theory and technology capable of autonomous response to a variety of changing surroundings, possibly involving collaboration with other entities – some of which might be human.
In addition three other foci for highly futuristic research (FET) are included within the call, being supported by smaller budgets:
