Intellect launches Guide to Public Sector Procurement

Guide to Catalist can help save public sector time and money

Intellect, the trade association for the UK technology industry, will today launch a user guide for Catalist that it has developed in conjunction with OGCbuying.solutions and a selection of users from government departments and agencies. This is the first time that advice on using Catalist – a suite of government procurement framework agreements – has been developed based on such collaboration.

The user guide is designed to enable potential public sector users, particularly those with no or little experience of Catalist framework agreements, to reduce the time and cost of procurement and to ensure they choose the most appropriate supplier. The online, interactive guide includes links to a glossary and to useful websites. Although Catalist has a wide scope, this guidance focuses on ICT and consultancy.

The Catalist framework agreements are pre-completed supplier lists that are EU compliant. They are available for use by the public sector in the UK. Frameworks are proven to reduce the time and cost of procurements and the competition between suppliers to get onto a framework results in value for money for the public sector.
