Karen Hewitt holds a BSc Hons in European Management Science, an MBA (achieved with Distinction), and the postgraduate diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She speaks five languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese),and has 15 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing and Strategic Management. Her marketing work has been published; she has lectured in Strategic Management, and was latterly Marketing Director for Gael Ltd, an award-winning Scottish software company. During her time at Gael, Karen was instrumental in finding international markets for the company’s MindGenius software. Prior to joining Gael, Karen gained unique strategy experience in Venezuela, spending two years working with the national shipping line and assisting clients in the oil and gas sector. Karen established Ogam Marketing, a technology specialist marketing company, in 2006, and now speaks regularly on marketing and international marketing issues. She has recently delivered a number of lectures, for example, on international marketing strategy, for the Global Companies Development Programme, run by Scottish Enterprise.
