Defence and Security Commercial Council

 Focus: engaging with government departments, Intellect members, the MOD and OGC. Sharing expertise and experience in the commercial aspects of Defence & Security. By means of a programme of regular meetings, including key customer representatives by invitation, the group produces guidance and white papers on specific policy topics associated with contracting.

Key Objectives:

  • Facilitate industry’s contribution to contracting issues and policy through dialogue with stakeholders, including responses to formal and informal consultation
  • Undertake working groups, as required, to generate position papers and discussion documents for informed debate with Government Departments
  • Advice on best practice, including the sharing of experiences and Contracting solutions
  • Enhance and maintain members’ awareness of developments in contracting methodologies by Government – specifically focusing on issues associated with the technology sector in Defence and Security, but also, as appropriate, other Government Departments
  • Facilitate and encourage networking and collaboration between members and customer stakeholders
  • Provide specialist views on issues affecting contracting in the technology sector to the MoD, NAO, NDIC and CPSG as appropriate.
