Donald H Taylor is chairman of the Learning and Skills Group, the UK's leading gathering of workplace learning and development professionals. He is also a director of InfoBasis, the provider of capability management software to organisations as diverse as Microsoft, Sony Picture Entertainment and BAE Systems. He has 20 years' experience in the fields of IT and skills, and over that time has developed a keen sense for differentiating between hype and reality in workplace learning and development, IT professionalism and human capital management. He is particularly concerned with encouraging learning and development to become fully integrated with corporate strategy and with promoting both individual and organisational professionalism. Donald speaks and chairs regularly at industry events, has sat on the SFIA Council since it was formed, and is part of Intellect's Professionalism workstream. He is also a non-executive director of the UK's Institute of IT Training. Donald contributes regularly to industry magazines, both on- and off-line, and blogs at www.donaldhtaylor.co.uk
