Vice Chair Ian White Oracle

After an early career in software houses, Ian White spent 17 years with Deloitte Consulting where he worked in all parts of the public sector, including Central Government, Defence, Local Government and the NHS.  From 1992-95 he was seconded into MOD DGITS, a predecessor body to DG Info, where he was responsible for mobilisation of the Non-Operational IS Strategies in the TLBs.

He joined Oracle in 1997 as Business Development Director for Public Services.  From 1999-2001 he was seconded to the Cabinet Office to work on the e-Government agenda.  On his return from secondment he took over responsibility for developing Oracle’s business in the NHS, including their National IT Programme and the establishment of NHS Shared Business Services, which runs on Oracle.  In 2004 his focus changed to Central Government and Defence.  He leads Oracle’s response to the Efficiency Programme and Transformational Government Strategy, and in particular the initiative on Shared Services.
