Insight Test Services signs framework agreement with Cabinet Office

Released by Insight Test Services Ltd on 08/02/2008

Insight Test Services, the leading software quality and testing consulting and service provider, has signed a framework agreement with the Cabinet Office to provide strategic consulting and testing and verification services for the Pygmalion project.

Simultaneously, Insight Test Services becomes one of the Partners in the Government Gateway Alliance. The Pygmalion project is an initiative of the Cabinet Office’s e-Delivery Team (EDT), which is an integral part of the Delivery and Transformation Government Group. EDT is responsible for the Government Gateway which provides identity verification and secure transaction infrastructure for public sector bodies providing online services.

The Gateway currently has over 10 million users. EDT is also a leader in developing proofs of concept and fully tested prototypes for cross-government applications similar to the Gateway. The Pygmalion Project establishes a catalogue of specialist suppliers, sometimes described as a “best of breed consortium”, who can actively collaborate in bringing IT innovation to the changing role of the Government Gateway and support the Transformational Government agenda. It is envisaged that other public sector organisations will be able to avail of the attractive terms of the framework by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Cabinet Office.

Speaking at the contract signing, Declan Kavanagh, managing director of Insight said “we are particularly pleased to be selected to work on such a prestigious project and look forward to working with the Cabinet Office’s e-Delivery Team as they harness information technology innovation to make Government more efficient and more responsive to citizens and business”. The Framework agreement is for four years until November 2010.
