Bristol, England Monday 25th Feb 2008 – BOM Group announced today that the new South West Illegal Money Lending Team has selected Clue2 as its primary investigative and case management software platform.
As part of a continued drive to tackle illegal money lending, a crime that targets the poorest and vulnerable members of our communities, Trading Standards has been given the go ahead to create regional teams to combat this clandestine sector of the black economy.
“Illegal money lenders, or loan sharks as they are more commonly known, take advantage of the most vulnerable people in our society today,” comments Alan Evans, the head of the new South West Illegal Money Lending team based in Bristol, “This not only causes incredible hardship and distress to the families caught up in a spiral of increasing debt but the evidence shows that loan sharks will also usually be engaged in a range of other serious crime”.
