Insight Test Services, the leading software quality and testing consulting and service provider, has been selected by competitive tender as a supplier to provide additional capacity and capability in the supply of IT products and services to the NHS. Insight’s framework agreement with NHS Connecting for Health is to provide test and assurance services and also consulting services relating to test environments and services. NHS Connecting for Health has signed Framework Contracts for Additional Supply Capability and Capacity (ASCC) in order to streamline procurement of IT systems and services from suppliers who have demonstrated experience in the health sector and can support both the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) related work and wider IT related projects.

These framework contracts are available for use by any procuring authority involved in the provision of healthcare or social care in the UK. Thus they are available to all of the Strategic and Special Health Authorities, Primary Care Trusts, Acute Trusts, Foundation Trusts, Mental Health Trusts, Ambulance Trusts and Care Trusts. Speaking at the contract signing, Declan Kavanagh, managing director of Insight, said: “We are particularly pleased to be selected for such a major area of work that builds on our considerable previous experience of the Life Sciences and Public Service sectors, and look forward to working with the NHS organisations as they harness information technology innovation to make health and social care more efficient and more responsive to citizens’ needs”. The Framework Agreement is for four years.
