UL presents certification solutions for the markets of the future; China, India and Japan at the Hannover Show.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) will be exhibiting at the Hannover Messe from 21st – 25th April 2008 (Hall 15, Stand D47), they will be presenting extensive solutions for access to Asia, particularly to China and India. Underwriters Laboratories, (UL) is a world leader in safety testing and product certification with a network of 127 service locations serving 104 countries and had over 21 billion UL Marks appearing on products last year. Market access to China continues to be a cental topic for all Industries, UL will touch on the peculiarities of Asian market access at the show, informing visitors and prospects about the Chinese CCC certification mark required by numerous technical products for import into China. Through a Joint Venture with the CCIC, China’s national body for the control of the import and export requirements, UL supports manufacturers of Industrial products and electrical components with the entire CCC certification process. Market access to India; another important growth market for manufacturers of industrial products, also remains a popular theme, UL has laboratories in Bangalore, allowing local product testing, the topic will be discussed at length at the Hannover Show. In line with the Hannover Messe choice of partner country for this year, Access to Japan and the associated Japanese compulsory PSE – certification mark constitutes the third element of the market access to Asia deliberation.

UL is running a forum on market access to Asia on Thursday, 24 April in the conference room Dresden in the Convention Centre. There will be 2 sessions running from 10.00 until 13.00 hrs and 14.00 until 17.00 hrs. UL experts will lecture on how manufacturers can approach the certification process for the Chinese, the Indian and the Japanesse Market effectively. Furthermore, they will use case studies and discuss at length which processes must be considered. The speakers will be Mr. Ning Chen, the China Market Access Manager as well as the deputy managing director of the UL/CCIC in Beijing and Mr. Rajnikanth Umakanthan, Senior Sales Executive in Bangalore and Ms. Monika Dorniak-Rasmussen, from the Danish affiliate of UL International Demko A/S, the Conformity Assessment Body accredited by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
