International Defence and Security Council

At a glance: the IDSC was set up in 2008 to develop export markets for members, import and contribute to international best practice and policy coherence, and help member companies understand and exploit the impacts of a globalising defence & security market.

Meeting dates

  • 31/03/2010
  • - International Defence and Security Council: Richard Paniguian, Head of UKTI DSO

Focus: market development and policy contribution in International areas, promoting the industry's capabilities and seek to improve the international market environment for members. The IDSC represents members' views of international issues in policy, export markets and development (in both defence and security) as well as providing a forum for engagement with relevant issues and stakeholders. The council's formal scoping document will be published shortly.

Key focus areas: In 2008 the group has the opportunity to undertake several pieces of written and engagement work on relevant topics – for which one area of work has already been suggested. Future topics and themes will be established at group meetings, and guests will be invited to meetings to discuss their challenges and issues with members
