About the council

This new body will represent members' views of international issues in policy, export markets and development - in both defence and security - representing industry's interests as well as providing a forum for engagement with relevant issues and stakeholders. The council's formal scoping document will be published shortly.

In common with other Intellect groups in Defence and Security, the IDSC will focus on market development and policy contribution in International areas, promoting the industry's capabilities and seek to improve the international market environment for members. In 2008 the group has the opportunity to undertake several pieces of written and engagement work on relevant topics, and one initial area of work has already been suggested. Future topics and themes will be established at group meetings, and guests will be invited to meetings to discuss their challenges and issues with members.
