Summary

The 'Software and IT Services Survey - The year ahead' is the second instalment of an annual questionnaire put to Intellect’s software and IT services members. The objective of this survey is to ensure that Intellect is kept up-to-date on the concerns and issues facing this community in the UK.

The survey was carried out at the end of 2007 and therefore reflects a view of the future after the full extent of the ‘credit crunch’ was fairly well understood, although its full impact on the economy may not have been appreciated.

The survey covered a range of issues, including:

activity of focus
size of customers
expected growth
factors affecting performance
the impact of globalisation on business
staff and skills
price movements
business models and sales channels
offshoring of R&D activities

The 'Software and IT Services Survey - The year ahead' presents the findings of the survey and includes three case studies that demonstrate how many of the issues raised in the report are evident in real-life business situations.
