Technology industry comments on Richards Review

Commenting on the Richard's Review from the Conservative Party’s Small Business Task Force, that was published today, Nick Kalisperas, director of transformational business at Intellect said:

“Intellect welcomes ideas to simplify business support systems as we believe they could help our members. The recommendations that the Richards Review makes to improve business information, advice and support seem sensible.

We are particularly interested in the enterprise education initiative. Intellect hopes that the overhaul of enterprise education in schools will include basic technology skills that are a pre-requisite for anyone working in business.

We look forward to contributing fully and working constructively with the Small Business Task Force to implement solutions which not only benefit SMEs but also UK Plc.”

Intellect is the trade association for the UK technology industry. It represents over 800 companies ranging from SMEs to multinationals.

Intellect, the trade association for the UK technology industry, welcomes the signature of the UK-US Defence Co-operation Treaty as an important step in strengthening defence co-operation between the United Kingdom and the United States.

Once ratified and implemented, the Treaty will provide the means to leverage more effectively the strengths and innovation of the UK and US defence industries to provide state of the art materiel and support to the men and women of both the Armed Forces of both nations and to contribute to their interoperability on the battlefield, now and in the future.

Intellect, as a member of The Defence Industries Council fully supports the objectives of the Treaty and hope that the legislatures in both countries will give early approval for it to be brought into effect.
