Elizabeth Kanter Research In Motion Elizabeth is director of government relations for Research In Motion, the makers of BlackBerry, and is responsible for government relations and public affairs in the UK. In this role, she works directly with the public sector sales team in Central and Local Government and the Health sector to promote the notion of the BlackBerry as a tool for Public Sector. On the European level, Elizabeth leads on issues related to e-Inclusion and e-Accessibility. Elizabeth was previously VP Government Affairs for Marconi where she had global responsibility for government relations. Other public affairs roles have included positions at Nortel in the UK, as Head of Government Relations, and Washington DC, as Director of International Trade, and at an IT trade association called the Computer and Communications Industry Association. Elizabeth was an Intellect Board Member whilst at Marconi and is a member of the PITCOM Council. She is also a Fellow at the Royal Society of the Arts. Elizabeth holds a Masters Degree in International Communications from American University and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, San Diego. She is married with one child and lives in London.
