Vice Chair Jonathan Wills Market Development and Sales Director BAE Systems

After completing a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at City University, London, Jon. rejoined BAE Dynamics (Naval Weapons) in 1989, where he had previously been an undergraduate trainee.

As a System Design Engineer, Jon worked on a variety of systems.  Jon ran small engineering teams performing trade off studies, mathematical modelling and writing system requirements. During this he found the time to take a Masters degree in Information Engineering at Bristol University, eventually becoming a Chartered Engineer.

1995 saw Jon. move to Stevenage as Chief Engineer, Sea Skua. This role provided Jon with an introduction to Sales and Marketing, travelling in support of sales campaigns to the Middle and Far East. Five months in, and Jon was seconded to Head Office where he ran part of the British Aerospace culture change programme, leading to a two year stint as a facilitator and change manager.

Jon then moved to the Central Marketing team as Marketing Director, working in Europe and the USA and spending three and a half years overseas. Returning to the UK in 2003, Jon spent 18 months as a Director, UK Government Relations, working mostly on the UK Defence Industrial Strategy and completing an MBA programme at INSEAD.

Jon joined BAE Systems Insyte in April 2005 as Market Development and Sales Director and ran this function for two and half-years before becoming Programmes Director, National Security & Resilience in 2007.
