Intellect held the second of its Document Management Seminars on Wednesday 12 November 2008, launching two new papers: 'Addressing information risk and compliance' and 'Safeguarding information, reputation and corporate productivity - a guide for information governance'. Seminar: Maximising Your Investment and Collaborative Working Environments

Intellect held the first of its Document Management Seminars on Friday 20 June, launching two new papers: ‘Document management: an approach to maximising your investment’ and ‘Collaborative Working Environments: using document management for projects and programmes’.
The authors of these two papers presented their reports to the group. A copy of these presentations is available here. An open forum session followed the presentation, allowing attendees to suggest other areas of interest within the document management field.
The group is already planning to address the following topics:
  • Risk, compliance and legal admissibility
  • Content governance
  • Open document formats
  • The future of EDRM/ECM
  • Document management for SMEs
  • SharePoint 
However, attendees suggested that the following topics be covered:
  • MoRec 2 and TNA
  • The link between EDRM and knowledge management
  • Enterprise search
  • Justifying investment in document management: the business case
  • Data retention
