At a glance: The Intellect Innovation workstream supports government in seeking out and nurturing innovation.

Focus: In October 2006 the workstream published the ‘Releasing Innovation’ white paper, and has since focused on exploring ways of embedding innovation across a broad range of processes. The Public Sectorstrategy highlighted the need for effective processes to ensure continued innovation and knowledge sharing in the public sector. This will require a shift across public sector culture that both encourages and enables the joined up creativity, will and capability to implement radical new ideas. The workstream recently re-focused its effort in the three key areas below, and is currently working to create activity plans for each focus point.
