Open Grid Forum-Europe (OGF-Europe) is a European Commission funded two year project that aims to play a key role in influencing the drive towards global standardisation efforts and in bringing best practices back into the EU computing environment. Consisting of a consortium of nine partners, including Intellect, OGF-Europe provides the resources needed to engage with European grid computing users and providers and to respond to their unique set of requirements through the community outreach seminars, surveys, scholarships, in depth tutorials and international events. OGF-Europe comes at a time in IT development where the use of distributed computing is transforming the IT landscape in the shift towards an increasingly global, knowledge-based economy.
