The Intellect–Socitm Local Government Supplier Forum was established in April 2004 with the aim of fostering closer working and better understanding between the local government community and industry suppliers operating in the marketplace. Member companies range in size from large multinationals to niche consultancies. The group raises issues from across the sector and identifies areas of common concern to both Intellect and Socitm members. A management committee is responsible for taking forward the work of the forum.

Key focus areas

  • identify areas of common interest between the Local Government community and the supplier community, e.g. educational events, joint approaches to particular policy areas, etc.
  • agree how work on particular issues can be taken forward in a practical way
  • act as a channel for ideas and issues from the different constituencies involved, feeding these to bodies such as the Socitm National Council
