John Edwards Harvard International plc
John joined Harvard International and the CE industry in 1993 to set up a new Corporate Communications function. He has responsibility for internal and external communications, Group corporate and product PR, online activities, industry and Government liaison and policy forecasting.
He is also Chairman of Intellect’s Consumer Electronics Council.
In these twin roles he maintains active liaison with the CE supply chain, a wide spread of industry bodies and HMG departments with a strong focus on Digital Switchover and emerging digital technologies.
Prior to switching careers to the faster-paced world of CE, John studied engineering and spent 28 years in the motor industry working for British Leyland; Toyota GB where he launched the industry’s first own label credit card system; and then Porsche Cars GB where he was Marketing & PR Manager.
John is also a member of the Digital Television Group Council and a member of the business forum of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
He is married and lives in Central London, W2 where he is active in community affairs and from where he pursues his main interests which include the arts, especially opera, technology and unusual travel.
