Space IGT launch event at Inmarsat Headquarters (L–R) Andy Green, IGT chair and Logica CEO; Lord Drayson; Perry Melton, Inmarsat COO; Major Timothy Peake
Welcome to the Space Innovation and Growth Team (IGT). The Space IGT is a joint government and industry initiative which will define a 20-year vision and strategy for the future growth of the space industry.
The purpose of the Space IGT is to involve the entire UK space community in setting out the challenges and opportunities that will govern its future value, competitiveness and hence growth. This will inform a 20 year strategy for the future of the British space industry that will see Britain become a leader in the world space landscape, as well as contributing revenue, jobs and value to the UK economy. It will include the identification of facilitators and barriers, whether policy and government related, economic, financial, technological, innovation, or awareness and perception issues.
