TeleWare, the leading provider of intelligent communication applications for hosted and on-premise solutions, today announced that they have won the Vehicle Services Innovation Award from Global Business Telecom for the emergency vehicle-based mobile networks supplied by TeleWare accredited partner Excelerate Technology.
Excelerate Technology introduced the concept of providing emergency response vehicles with their own independent GSM network using the TeleWare Private Mobile Network (PMN) solution so that irrespective of the presence or capability of any incumbent national cellular network its customer’s would always have cellphone connectivity.
Founded in 2001, Excelerate Technology has rapidly become the UK market leader in the provision of video, voice, data and Internet over satellite and wireless and the company probably has more customers and positive references from those customers than the rest of the competition put together. The company, aided by its technology partners such as TeleWare, has achieved this by being the leading pioneer in every field of its activities.
The evidence of the above is best demonstrated by the fact that Excelerate Technology was appointed technology supplier nationally for the Department of Health’s HART (Hazardous Area Response Teams) programme. This is delivering a new generation of civil contingency vehicles equipped to provide high levels of real-time information and resilient communications, integrating voice, video and data technologies to enhance patient and victim care at major incidents.
Excelerate RapidNet, the PMN GSM solution provided and managed by Excelerate Technology, is a mission critical element of the overall solution and this is the first time in Europe that this variation of a standalone private GSM network has been deployed by any of the emergency services.
“We were impressed by the quality and number of nominations this year — the most we have ever had — so it was a special triumph to be one of the winners this year. This was an outstanding project and well deserves its award,” commented Alan Burkitt-Gray editor of Global Telecoms Business “This project stood out, even though the competition was strong, and it just had to be one of the winners. Well done to all involved,” added Burkitt-Gray.
