Worksteams

We operate through five distinct workstreams:

  • markets and wealth generation - includes identifying barriers to growth or market access, regulation and policy impact assessment, scenario planning
  • industrial capability and technology - includes identifying the UK's strengths and key capabilities (world leading/crown jewels/sovereign capability) and weakness or gaps in capabilities. Develop technology strategy to meet market opportunities and retain
UK capabilities, including realising synergies with other sectors
  • delivering public policy through space - includes developing process for harmonising government needs into a single coherent strategy covering civil, defence and security needs, and ensuring governance structure supports and enables the harmonised strategy
  • awareness raising – includes outreach strategy, skills promotion and gaps, enabling wider understanding of the sector throughout government and in other sectors.
  • finance and procurement - includes strategy for smarter HMG procurement and policy writing to maximise return to the UK economy when using/spending on space. Identifying policies and regulations that (inadvertently) favour non-space solutions, as well as sources of (private and public) funding to enable growth at all levels of business and size
