Information Security & Assurance Board

The Information Security & Assurance Board (ISAB) has been created to begin an important dialogue between Government and private sector information technology suppliers that handle data on behalf of government. The Information Security & Assurance team have been working very closely with Intellect, the leading UK ICT trade association which represents over 750 members of the UK information technology industry to achieve this aim.

The Board comprises a number of senior information risk owners from key central government departments alongside senior directors from the top ICT suppliers to government; including Lockheed Martin UK, EDS a HP Company, Cable & Wireless, BT, Logica, Accenture and CSC.

The Prime Minister’s Security and Intelligence Advisor, Robert Hannigan, chairs the board on behalf of Government alongside Martin Goodman, Head of Information Security at C&W on behalf of industry.

ISAB will be looking at a number of important initiatives including;

IA compliance measures for suppliers
IA assessment tools for suppliers
culture change, training and education
communicating ISAB activities to the wider public sector and third party suppliers
