Intellect submit 'Technology and the deficit' report to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling

12/11/2009

Ahead of the Pre-Budget report which will take place on 09 December 2009, Intellect has submitted a high level paper to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling.  The paper, Technology and the deficit: using ICT to increase public sector efficiency, highlights the potential of ICT to reduce the cost of government activity and contribute to reducing the Government’s fiscal deficit.

Through a number of case studies, the document argues that ICT is not only a vital tool for the implementation and management of new policy but can be a key enabler of operational efficiency in those areas of government expenditure not attributable directly to ICT.
