Healthcare Commissioning Working group

At a glance:The Healthcare Commissioning Working group was established to bring members together to discuss the challenges facing the commissioning process.

Focus: In the current fiscal environment, there is now more pressure to deliver improved access, improved quality and improved health outcomes with tighter budgets. To this end, the working group is developing a position paper illustrating how ICT can help in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the commissioning process and therefore enable the NHS system to follow suit.

The position paper will seek to illustrate the need for robust informatics to properly support the commissioning process. It will also explore the role of industry in providing systems to help commissioners implement standard, well-evidenced frameworks more efficiently.
