Innovation in UK Healthcare Championed

e-Health Innovation Awards Short List Announced

The shortlist of finalists for the first E-Health Innovation Awards has been announced, and the prospective winners represent best practice examples of how IT can be used innovatively to deliver efficient and effective treatment for the patient.

Organised by Intellect and E-Health Insider, the awards highlight the application and use of innovative ICT solutions in the UK healthcare sector and reward the partnership approach of the public and private sector in delivering benefits to the patient.

This year's awards have received entries from a wide selection of healthcare technology projects. The Judging Panel met last week to judge the entries and selected a short list of winners for each of the five awards.

Announcement of the winners and presentation of awards will take place at the E-Health Innovation Awards Gala Dinner in London on 21st April 2005.

Nick Kalisperas, Intellect's Director of Public Sector said:
"The short listed entries all demonstrated the right combination of innovation, application of technology, partnership and practical benefits in terms of improvement and service to the patient. They are each an exemplary example of a project which has challenged the traditional methods of thinking, and has shown real courage in the innovative adoption and promotion of e-technology".
