DTV products meet the needs of consumers Industry Responds to Welsh Trial Results
Intellect has today welcomed the findings of the Welsh technical trial, and the proactive approach taken to tackling the rollout of digital services to the vulnerable sections of society.
Commenting on the findings of the trial Laurence Harrison, Director of Consumer Electronics at Intellect said;
"Consumer Electronics manufacturers are committed to switchover, and have invested heavily in the development of a full range of digital products for all consumer needs. This report provides confirmation that this investment has been successful in providing products which meet the needs of the majority of UK consumers."
"Industry is committed to working with government to ensure that the products and technical support provided during switchover meet the needs of vulnerable consumers. We are already working with the DCMS to deliver the Vulnerable Groups trial, and hope that this will enable Government to make informed decisions regarding the level of support vulnerable groups will need during switchover."
