Digital Television Manufacturers Forum Established Consumer Electronics Manufacturers met on 17 February 2003 and agreed to establish the Digital Television Manufacturers' Forum. The purpose of the Forum is to coordinate and represent manufacturers' views on the key issues affecting the development of Digital Television in the UK.
The Forum will enable manufacturers to work more effectively in partnership with government, broadcasters, retailers and consumer groups within the Digital TV Action Plan. One of the immediate priorities of the Forum is to work with the broadcasters to improve the provision of programme information on digital terrestrial television.
Peter Hamblin, Deputy Managing Director of Panasonic will chair the Forum; he also chairs the Intellect Consumer Electronics Council. Richard Brown of Sony will chair the Forum's Technical Group. Intellect's Consumer Electronics Team will provide the Secretariat for the Forum.
