Intellect today responded to claims that industry is exploiting the ban on handheld mobile phones in cars
"There are all sorts of distractions to today’s driver - talking to fellow passengers, eating, drinking and listening to the radio – talking on a hands free mobile phone is no different”, said Tom Wills-Sandford, Campaigns Director, Intellect.
“To suggest that as an industry we are ‘cashing in’ on the imminent laws would be totally absurd. The simple fact is that we are committed to supporting the new law, and to providing drivers with access to the equipment they need to stay on the right side of it.”
