Intellect Calls for Clarification Over NPfIT Funding Arrangements Intellect has today called for clarification of the funding arrangements relating to the National Programme for Information Technology (NPfIT), and how the arrangements will impact NHS Trusts ability to resource ICT projects outside of the NPfIT. Commenting, James Drewer, Healthcare Programme Manager at Intellect said: "Intellect continues to fully support the NPfIT and our member companies delivering it. However, we urge the Department of Health to take steps to clarify the details of the funding arrangements as quickly as possible." "Without such clarification it will remain unclear to what extent the NHS Trusts will financially contribute towards the National Programme and crucially what resources they will have left after any such commitment to concentrate on IT projects that fall outside the NPfIT core services remit. A failure to provide clarification will make it impossible for Healthcare IT Suppliers to fully understand the market environment within which they are working, and to make long terms business decisions."
